Roman citizens were very much fond of baked products and demanded these frequently on grandiloquent occasions such as feasts, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries etc. Day by day it became very popular and around 300 BC only because of it’s popularity the art of baking became a profession as well as a respectable occupation for Romans.

The people who took the art of baking as their profession they began to make breads at home in an oven. They used mills to grind grain into flour for their products. Because of the rising demand for baked products the fist baker’s guild was established in 168 BD in Rome. Due to the increasing demand of baked products promoted baking throughout Europe and expanded into the eastern parts of Asia and gradually throughout the world. The bakers commence the art of baking along with other goods at home and selling those over the streets.
